Shigeo Tokuda, the Oldest Man in Japanese AV Part Two

Men's V - Original Japanese Date: September 1st, 2015
English Translation Published: July 13th, 2016

Shigeo Tokuda is the oldest Japanese actor in the industry who still is working at pushing out more than 400 titles in his career spanning two decades.

(Translator's note: This post is a continuation of a previous entry.)

Men's V: One of the highlights of the 'Forbidden Caretaker' series are the kitchen mastication scenes. Is this a type of play you actually enjoy?
Shigeo Tokuda: It's just work for me so outside of it I don't enjoy doing scenes like that. However, I'm a bit older than other actors so there are certain types of activities that are easier for me to carry out. What I enjoy most is being kissed while having that lower portion of me fondled. I can never get enough of that.

MV: How do you feel about being an AV actor? How has the response been?
ST: Well, it's certainly been a useful thing for me to pick up. I've always been into putting on a disguise like a fake mustache before going out to the streets. I used to do this while I was younger so now that I can take on roles as an actor is a very enjoyable experience. Doing this also gives me a chance to observe humanity.

MV: Can you expand on that 'observing humanity' part?
ST: I mean that in how I can see how people behave in unique circumstances. It's something I normally am not able to do. You usually need to work as an actor to see what I'm fortunate to view now.

MV: As busy as you are with AV, do you still have time to maintain a private life?
ST: Lately I've been watching a lot of movies. Also I haven't much done recently because my legs have been hurting, but I'm also fond of mountain climbing. When I'm home I may watch older titles by FA PRO. And when I mean old, I'm talking titles originally released on VHS. I own quite a few of them!

MV: Does anyone in your family know about your AV acting career? What about your wife whom you live with?
ST: At first, no, but now she at least knows a little bit about it. She warns me about trying not to work too much at my age. I can understand how she feels, but doing nothing at home is worse. It's best to remain busy.

MV: Well, the secret to success and long-living is frequently doing something you enjoy. Any last messages for the people reading this interview?
ST: Life's short and the time to do what you enjoy will not last forever. Be sure to take time out and enjoy it! Appearances may matter some, but don't make yourself uncomfortable doing things you despise. Have fun even if it's a bit reckless!

MV: Tokuda-san, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule for this interview.

(Translator's note: at his age even if his family found out (which they probably fully will if they don't know already), it probably won't be that big of a deal. Sex, fortunately, isn't as shameful here. Of course the adult industry still has some level of prejudice, but it's not as bad as it is in the west.)
